Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using CTFProfile you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Who can use CTFProfile

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 18 you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for all activity on your account.

3. Your account

Keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for anything done under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is illegal, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise harmful.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to CTFProfile's systems or other users' accounts.
  • Scrape or bulk-download content without permission.
  • Use the service to promote or facilitate real-world attacks on systems you do not own or have explicit permission to test.
  • Post writeups, flags, or solutions in ways that violate an active CTF's rules or embargo period.

5. User-generated content

You retain ownership of writeups, comments, and other content you post. By posting, you grant CTFProfile a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display that content as part of the service. You are solely responsible for the content you post and represent that you have the right to post it.

We may remove any content that violates these Terms or that we deem harmful, without notice.

6. CTF events and competition data

CTF events are submitted by users and require moderator approval before they appear publicly. CTFProfile does not organise or run the listed competitions. Scores, solves, and challenge data imported from third-party scoring platforms are provided as-is and may contain errors.

7. Third-party integrations

CTFProfile supports sign-in via Google, GitHub, and Discord. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or their handling of your data.

The CTFProfile Discord bot operates in servers you choose to add it to. Bot access can be revoked at any time by removing the bot from your server.

8. NICE / NIST framework data

Skill mappings to the NIST NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework are provided for informational and career-development purposes. They do not constitute an official certification, endorsement, or credential from NIST or any other authority.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

CTFProfile is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CTFProfile and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
